Material header
The information in the ‘Material’ input tab’s header tab has one of two possible sources:
Original CAM Assist ‘Stock material’ (see screenshot to the right) - the material that you originally used to generate selected when CAM Assist computed the toolpath strategy (see screenshot to the right).
Material pop-up - you can replace the original material with one you selected from within the Material pop-up (see below).

The Material pop-up contains a list of materials supported by the Cutting Parameters add-on. Each material is color-coded, according to the ISO Material Group Classification.
The materials in the pop-up are organized as follows:
Generic - the Cutting Parameters will make add-on makes recommendations for all materials of the same generic type.
Example, Generic Aluminum alloy (high Si).
Specific - the Cutting Parameters will add-on only make makes recommendations for the specific material.
Example, 390-T6.
How to change the selected material
Within the Material pop-up, take the following steps:
Click on one of the generic or specific materials (use the options circle on the right)
The content of the Material tab changes immediately to the selected material.
Click on the
button in the top-right of the pop-up.The selected material is automatically saved.
The Material pop-up closes.
