How to Use the 3+2 'Automatic' Machining Mode
Automatic 3+2 strategies are only available for evaluation through participation in CloudNC’s ‘Early Access Beta Program' (see below).
This page step-by-step instructions on how to use the 3+2 Axis machining mode, with the ‘Automatic' machining direction.
Step-by-step instructions
Selecting a part and opening CAM Assist
While you are free to use any part, these instructions uses ‘Demo 1’ (available from the CAM Assist panel).
Select a part - expand the CAM Assist panel (shown to the right):
Hover over ‘Open a Demo Part’.
Select ‘Demo 1’.
Open CAM Assist - expand the CAM Assist panel and select ‘CloudNC CAM Assist’.
Specifying the ‘3+2 Axis’ machining mode
Tool library - select a ‘Tool library’ from the drop-down.
Stock material - select a material from the drop-down.
Machine - clicking the drop-down arrow for the Machine displays a set of properties that CAM Assist needs to compute a toolpath strategy.
Machining mode - select ‘3+2 Axis’.
The ‘Machining direction' options are displayed.
Machining Direction - select ‘Automatic’.
The ‘Warning for the Early Access Beta Program' dialog is displayed.
Click OK.
