There are two Aggression Control sliders:

Tool Life ↔︎ Productivity

Constantly displayed while the Cutting Parameters Explorer is open.

Rubbing ↔︎ Chipping

Displayed only when activated by the Aggression Control switch (see below).

Aggression Control switch

The switch has two levels of control:

Using the Sliders

Aggression Control sliders are so named because they indicate the level of ‘aggressive control’ you assign over a tool in the machining operation:

The blue circle image-20240409-141320.png can be moved to any position along the slider:

  • More aggressive - the more the selected position is to the right, the more aggressive the approach.

    • Increased productivity tends to a decreased tool life.

    • Increased risk of chipping tends to a decreased risk of rubbing.

  • Less aggressive - the more the selected position is to the left, the less aggressive the approach.

    • Increased tool life tends to decreased productivity.

    • Increased risk of rubbing tens to a decreased risk of chipping.

Moving the selected position along either slider dynamically affects the following:
