The ‘General’ section enables you to specify the environment in which machining will take place, and edit the properties of the chosen machine.

The layout of the ‘General’ section

depends on which option you select for Machining mode.

changes depending on your action for the following:

  • Machine - clicking the drop-down arrow for the Machine displays the machine’s properties.

  • Machining mode - CAM Assist provides two

machining modes, as shown in the following side-by-side screenshots.

In addition to the ‘Machining mode’, the layout is also changed when Edit machine properties is clicked (see below)
  • modes:

    • 3+2 Axis

    • 3 Axis

  • Machining direction - this is displayed when the selected machining mode is 3+2 Axis.

Description

Tool library

The Fusion tool library to use within CAM Assist.

Stock material

CAM Assist will select tools, machining strategies, and cutting data presets based on the selected material.

Choose machine

The drop-down list contains two categories of machine:

CAM Assist supports ‘3 Axis’ and ‘3+2 Axis’ machining modes.
