This guide takes you through the process of downloading, installing and locating the latest version of CloudNC’s CAM Assist add-on for Siemens NX.

Note

CAM Assist is a Siemens NX add-on: NX must be closed before updating CAM Assist.

In order to update, there is no need to uninstall your currently installed version of CAM Assist.

Please ensure you have a compatible version of NX (such as 2206).

Step-by-step instructions

Downloading the installation file

<li>Under the heading CAM Assist for Fusion (Windows), click on the installation ‘file’ link to download the file.</li>
<li>Open the ‘Downloads’ folder in Windows Explorer.</li>

Running the installation

  1. Run the installation setup (double-click the file that was just downloaded).

The first part of the installation setup is the ‘Welcome’ page.

  1. Click ‘Next’.


If you see the 'Windows protected your PC' blue dialog at the start of the install, take the steps recommended in the FAQ section.

The next page holds the License Agreement (or Terms of Use Agreement).

  1. Fully read the Terms of Use Agreement.

  2. Click ‘I Agree’ to agree with the terms and continue the installation.

Click ‘Cancel’ if you do not agree or if you have questions you would like to get answered before continuing (please contact CloudNC Support).

When the installation has completed, a summary page is displayed.

  1. Ensure the checkbox for ‘Run Autodesk Fusion 360’ is checked.

  2. Click ‘Finish’.

    • Fusion 360 is opened automatically.

Locating CAM Assist

  • After installation, you should see a CAM Assist menu, as depicted in the image below.

  • In you don't see the CAM Assist icon, open a part within the software and attempt the process again.

  • Alternatively, if the CAM Assist icon is still not visible, right-click on the menu bar. Choose "Tabs/Bar" and ensure that "CAM Assist" is selected from the options.
