If you have multiple versions of NX installed on your computer and need to ensure that CAM Assist works on a specific supported version (such as NX 2206.9140), you can take the following steps to remove the CAM Assist plug-in from other installations:

  1. Locate the 'Custom-dirs' file on the version from which you want to remove CAM Assist.

    • For example, if you want to remove CAM Assist from NX2306, find the following file:

      • C:\Program Files\Siemens\NX2306\UGII\menus\custom_dirs.dat

  1. Open the "custom_dirs" file and scroll to the bottom of the file.

  1. If found, delete the following text from the bottom of the custom_dirs file:

    • ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\CloudNC\Siemens NX\Add-ins\CloudNC CAM Assist’

  1. Additionally, to ensure that CAM Assist is installed and active on the desired version of NX (e.g., NX 2206), you need to add the path to the CAM Assist plugin to the 'custom_dirs' file for that version. Locate the 'custom_dirs' file for NX 2206 then add the path to the CAM Assist plugin at the bottom of the file.
