Before using this tab, you must have selected at least one part file in the Upload tab then clicked Run.

After clicking Run, the ‘Cycle Time Estimates’ tab is populated with the results of the estimates for each of the part files selected in the Upload tab.

The following table contains details of all the information contained within the ‘Cycle Time Estimates’ tab, as shown in the screenshot to the right.

Information

Description

1

Results created at

The date and time that the estimates were calculated.

2

Part file name

The name of the part file (and its Fusion path).

The arrow to the left of the part file name can be clicked to expand/collapse its details.

3

Open document

Click the ‘open document’ icon (image-20240521-131824.png) to switch to the relevant Fusion tab that contains the part and its computed toolpath strategy.

4

Setup/Operation/Tool branches

Click the right-pointing arrow (image-20240521-132423.png) to expand the part to its setup branches. The setup branches can also be expanded (see Expanding a listed part, below).

5

Estimated time (H:MM:SS)

The time taken to complete machining for the part. On expanding the setup branch, the time is broken down into the time taken to complete individual operations (see Expanding a listed part, below).

Expanding a listed part

The results of the estimation are presented in the same manner as the Fusion Browser, where each part is broken down into its ‘setup’ branches. These ‘setup’ branches can be further expanded into ‘operation’ branches, then expanded again to show the individual tools used for the operation, as shown in the screenshot to the right.

Cited estimates

The estimated time taken to complete each setup/operation is shown to its right.

For example, in the part ‘Ring with Holes v8’ (shown in the screenshot to the right):

  • The estimated time to complete all operations within ‘Setup1’ is 33:49 (33 minutes and 49 seconds).

  • The estimated time to complete the Holemaking operation of ‘Setup1’ is 02:34 (2 minutes and 34 seconds).

  • The estimated time to complete the Holemaking operation for tool #22111 is 01:43 (1 minute and 43 seconds).

Time discrepancies

Continuing the ‘Ring with Holes v8’ example, it can be seen that the Holemaking operation requires two tools:

  • 22111 - bull nose end mill => 01:43

  • 22602 - drill => 00:36

Adding these times (01:43 + 00:36) gives a total of 02:17.

However, the total estimated time for the Holemaking operation is 02:34.

The reason for this discrepancies is the taken to change the tool.
