The user interface of CAM Assist is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly. It features eight tabs (as shown in the screenshot to the right):

  • Setup - essential ‘setup’ information that must be completed:

  • Machine - configure and manage CNC machine properties.

  • Tools - select and manage the tool library, including built-in and session tools.

  • Tool Usages

    • Review tools in the selected tool library.

    • Adjust how each tool is intended/allowed to be used by CAM Assist and for which types of materials.

  • Operations - included in the machining process, with options to modify sub-settings:

    • Toolpath Types - enables you to specify which operation you want CAM Assist to use to compute the toolpath strategy.

    • Geometry - enables you to redefine the geometry to include aspects of the original model that you wish to include or omit from CAM Assist’s toolpath strategy.

    • Roughing - provides a granular level of control for the ‘stock to leave’ aspect of the roughing toolpath.

    • Finishing - provides a granular level of control for specific aspects of the finishing toolpath.

Each of these tabs is detailed in the following sub-sections.
