This tutorial guides through the steps required to use the Generate Avoidance Geometry add-on.
For the purpose of illustration, the tutorial uses CloudNC’s part ‘Demo 4’. However, you can use the generate Avoidance Geometry add-on with any suitable part.

Video
The following step-by-step instructions are illustrated in the YouTube video How to Use Generate Avoidance Geometry.
Within the Fusion ‘Manufacture’ workspace:
To magnify any image/screenshot, just click it.
Within Generate Avoidance Geometry:
Select the ‘Setup(s)’ - check the required ‘setup' box for any of the setups associated with the part.
Click Generate
Avoidance geometry is generated for each checked ‘Setup'.
The add-on is closed and focus switches back to Fusion.
The avoidance geometry is now available in the Fusion Browser (see the following screenshot).
Using the generated Avoidance geometry in CAM Assist
Once you've created the Avoidance geometry, you may:
Keep the part open and use CAM assist to compute a toolpath strategy (see CAM Assist panel).
Save the part and its Avoidance geometry then open it later (using Fusion's save and open features) and use CAM Assist to compute a toolpath strategy (see CAM Assist panel).
If you open the part (with its generated avoidance geometry) within CAM Assist, the button next to ‘Avoidance Geometry’ (shown highlighted in the following screenshot) will contain Body (1). This is populated automatically by CAM Assist to indicate that Avoidance geometry has been generated.
