Features and functionality

The following screenshot shows the main layout and features of the Cutting Parameters add-on.

The Cutting Parameters add-on’s main features are shown in the following table.

1	Top banner	Contains the add-on title ‘CloudNC Cutting Parameters’. Cutting Parameters can be collapsed and expanded (in the same way as other aspects of Fusion’s user interface)
2	Input tabs	Across the top of Cutting Parameters are five ‘input tabs’ that display the inputs that Cutting Parameters uses to make recommendations. When Cutting Parameters is first opened, the inputs are populated by the choices already made in CAM Assist (the ones used to compute the toolpath strategy). Some of the inputs can be changed within Cutting Parameters via context-specific pop-ups, which appear when an input tab is clicked. For more details, see Input Tabs.
3	Display Area	Contains either the 2D Milling diagram (see #4) or the Heatmap (see #5).
4	‘2D Milling diagram’ option	Displays the 2D Milling diagram in the Display Area. For details, see 2D Milling Diagram.
5	‘Heatmaps’ option	Displays selected Heatmaps in the Display Area. For details, see Heatmaps.
6	Report a bad recommendation	Opens the ‘Report a bad recommendation’ form that, once completed, is sent to the Product Support team. For details, see How to Report a Bad Recommendation.
7	Aggression control sliders	There are two sliders that are used to indicate the level of aggressive control over the use of the tool for the machining operation. The switch to the left of the sliders controls which sliders are displayed. For details, see Aggression Control Sliders.
8	Fine tune	An expandable/collapsible section that contains a set of ‘Fine tune’ sliders that enable you to control the feeds and speeds of the tool used for the selected operation. For more information, see Fine Tune.
9	Scroll bar	Use the scroll bar to scroll the display area and the ‘Fine tune’ section (if expanded).
10	Session settings	Displays the ‘Session settings’ pop-up: Sign out - (Log out) of Cutting Parameters. Unit system: Imperial - switches Cutting Parameters to display all units in the imperial system. Metric - switches Cutting Parameters to display all units in the metric system. Version - the version of Cutting Parameters installed.
11	Save operation cutting data	Saves the configuration of the tool’s cutting parameters and applies them to the selected tool in the Fusion Browser. Saves the reconfiguration of the cutting parameters and applies them to Fusion Browser.
12	Bottom banner	Close - cancels the current action, closes the Cutting Parameters add-on, and returns focus to Fusion.

Resize and reposition

Resize

The Cutting Parameters add-on interface can be resized to whatever is most convenient: the resized interface is session-specific and will not be reused when Cutting Parameters is next opened.

To resize the Cutting Parameters add-on, click and drag any edge of its interface to the required size (the resize icon will be displayed when the action is available).

Reposition

The Cutting Parameters add-on can be positioned anywhere within the desktop (it is not confined to the Fusion window).

To reposition the Cutting Parameters add-on, drag the top banner to the desired position: it can be docked within the Fusion interface.
