The 2D Milling diagram provides a dynamic illustration of Cutting Parameter recommendations. Any changes to relevant ‘inputs’ are immediately shown in the 2D Milling diagram.
To display the 2D Milling diagram, click the left icon on the display switch (shown to the right).
Layout
The 2D Milling diagram has the layout shown in the screenshot to the right.
Notice that the diagram has two components:
Left image - represents the cutting engagement.
Right image - represents the z-plane view of the machining process.
Parameters
As annotated in the screenshot, the 2D Milling diagram contains the following recommended parameters:
Depth of cut (Ap)
Spindle speed
Width of cut (Ae)
Chip load
Feed per tooth
Feed rate
Each of these parameters, and more, can be amended in the Fine Tune section.
Dynamic adjustments
The 2D Milling diagram is dynamically updated by changes to any of the following inputs:
If any inputs are changed, the 2D milling diagram is immediately updated.
Tooltips
Hovering over any measurement displays a tooltip that contains the alternative unit system (to change the unit system, see Features and Functionality [#10]).
The screenshot below shows the measurement, in Imperial, next to its tooltip, in Metric.
