Across the top of Cutting Parameters Explorer are five 'input tabs’ that categorize the inputs that are used to make dynamic recommendations:
Features
When the Cutting Parameters Explorer is first opened, the inputs come from the configuration that was used by CAM Assist to compute the operation toolpath that was selected in the Toolpaths view.
Some of the inputs can be changed within the Cutting Parameters Explorer; this is done via context-specific pop-ups that appear when an ‘input tab’ is clicked.
Each input tab contains the following features (annotated in the screenshot to the right):
# | Feature | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | HeaderTab | Shows the current input information used by the Cutting Parameters Explorer. |
2 | Pop-up | On clicking the tab header, a pop-up is displayed that enables you to change the value of specific cutting parameters. |
3 | Close | Clicking the button performs the following:

Example Inputs
The following screenshot provides context by showing a selected operation toolpath in Mastercam’s Toolpaths view alongside the resultant Input Tabs in the Cutting Parameters Explorer.
In the example, the user right-clicked on the highlighted operation, then selected ‘Cutting Parameters Explorer’ from the pop-up (see Opening the Cutting Parameters Explorer).
