CAM Assist will use suitable Fusion defaults for missing parameters such as cutting data presets, stepdown and stepover values for all recognized tools in a toolset.
However, you may choose to configure all parameters within Fusion.
The guide focuses on creating a toolset for a single material, aluminum, which means that all preset names start with “Aluminum”.
If you’d like to set up a different material, simply replace “Aluminum” with any other workable material.

How many tools do you need?
CAM Assist works best on medium to large toolsets with well organized feeds and speeds. While you can use CAM Assist with a small number of tools, the system will try to make the best of the limited available options, which often results in something unexpected.
Unless you know exactly which tools are needed to machine a given part, it’s not recommended to use CAM Assist with small toolsets.
CAM Assist’s ‘Tool Use’ tab provides a streamlined, at-a-glance, view of ‘allowed' materials and usages (operations) for each tool in the selected toolset (for details, see Tool Use).
